Overview
Golden Hermes EA is our flagship Expert Advisor for XAUUSD (Gold) on MetaTrader 5. Instead of relying on a single setup, it runs ten independent breakout strategies as a coordinated portfolio inside one EA — momentum, swing and range systems on the daily chart, trend-following on H4, and five H1 systems covering wide breakouts, scalps, reversals, pullbacks, volatility squeezes and the London range.
Each strategy trades its own signals under its own magic number with its own risk allocation. When one system is flat or out of sync with the market, others are active — the portfolio effect smooths the combined equity curve the way a fund diversifies across systems.
It does not use grid, martingale, or averaging. Every position carries a defined stop loss, risk is allocated per strategy, and two independent drawdown guards cap the worst case at account level.

How It Works
Golden Hermes coordinates its ten systems through one engine:
Strategy Scan
Each of the 10 strategies independently scans its own timeframe (D1, H4 or H1) for its specific breakout setup — momentum, swing, range, trend, scalp, reversal, pullback, squeeze or London range.
Signal & Sizing
When a strategy signals, the risk engine sizes the position from your allocated capital, current drawdown state, and the selected risk profile. Each strategy's risk is capped independently.
Fakeout Filter
A configurable fake-breakout filter (Low / Medium / High strictness) validates the breakout before entry to skip low-quality spikes.
News Check
If a filtered news event is inside the blackout window, entries are paused. Optionally, open trades are closed and pending orders cancelled before the event.
Trade Management
Each position is managed by its owning strategy — stops, targets, breakeven and trailing logic per system, with virtual order expiry keeping stale pendings off the book.
Drawdown Guards
Daily and total drawdown are monitored continuously at account level. Hitting a limit triggers your configured halt action, from close-and-pause-24h to full stop until restart.
Dashboard Update
The on-chart panel updates in real time: per-strategy status, wins/losses, P/L and win rate, plus spread, balance, equity and both drawdown meters.

Daily-chart momentum breakout following strong directional closes.
Swing D1
Multi-day swing breakout from daily structure levels.
Range D1
Breakout from multi-day consolidation ranges on the daily chart.
Trend H4
H4 trend-following entries in the direction of the established move.
Breakout H1 Wide
Wide-structure breakouts on H1 targeting larger intraday moves.
Scalp H1
Short-horizon H1 breakout scalps with tight management.
Reversal H1
Failed-breakout reversal entries at exhausted extremes.
Pullback H1
Continuation entries on pullbacks within an H1 trend.
Squeeze H1
Volatility-squeeze expansion breakouts when compression resolves.
London Range BO
Classic London-session breakout from the pre-London range.
Every strategy can be individually enabled or disabled in the inputs, so you can run the full portfolio or hand-pick the systems you want.

Six risk profiles scale the same engine to your risk tolerance. All results below are 2020–2026 backtests on 100% real tick data (331 million ticks), starting from 10,000 USD:

Key Settings
Lot Sizing Mode
Auto Drawdown (default) sizes from allocated capital and drawdown state with an optional peak-balance lock. Fixed lot and risk-% per strategy are also available. Use Allocated Capital to size against only part of your account.
Risk Profile
Very Low → Very High presets, or Auto. This is the single most important setting — it scales every strategy's risk simultaneously.
Max Total / Daily Drawdown %
Account-level guards measured on balance or equity. Each has its own halt action: close & pause 24h, close & stop until restart, or block new entries only.
News Filter
Enable per impact level and currency (default: USD high-impact). Configurable minutes before/after each event, with optional close-trades-on-news and cancel-orders-on-news.
Fakeout Filter
Low / Medium / High strictness for breakout validation. Medium (default) is the tested balance between missed entries and avoided fakeouts.
Strategy Toggles
Ten on/off switches — run the full portfolio or only the systems you want. Disabling a strategy frees its risk allocation for the rest.
Friday Close Hour
Optionally flatten everything before the weekend at a chosen server hour (disabled by default).
Setup Guide
Download & Install
Download the .ex5 from your dashboard and copy it to File → Open Data Folder → MQL5 → Experts. Restart MT5.
Allow WebRequests
Tools → Options → Expert Advisors → enable WebRequest and add both https://lazyalgos.com and https://nfs.faireconomy.media.
Attach to XAUUSD H1
Drag the EA onto a XAUUSD H1 chart. Tick 'Allow live trading' in the dialog.
Enter Your License Key
Paste your key (starts with LA-) into the License Key input. It binds to your MT5 account number on first run.
Pick a Risk Profile
Start with Low or Auto. Set Max Total Drawdown to a level you're comfortable with (default 30%).
Enable AutoTrading
Click the AutoTrading button in the MT5 toolbar so it turns green. The dashboard will appear and strategies go Active.

FAQ
Can I run only some of the 10 strategies?
Yes — each strategy has its own enable/disable input. The risk engine automatically adapts allocations to the active set.
Does it hold multiple positions at once?
It can. Each strategy manages its own positions independently, which is what produces the portfolio smoothing effect. Use a lower risk profile if you prefer smaller aggregate exposure.
Is there a live verified signal?
A live Myfxbook signal is coming soon. All published results are 2020–2026 backtests on 100% real tick data in the meantime.
The EA halted on total drawdown — how do I restart?
Remove it from the chart and re-attach. This resets the baseline to current equity and resumes trading. Review your risk profile before restarting.
Can I use it on other symbols?
Golden Hermes is built and tested exclusively for XAUUSD. Running it on other symbols is not supported.
Does it work in the Strategy Tester?
Yes. The news filter is disabled in the tester (WebRequest unavailable). Test XAUUSD H1 with 100% real tick data for results comparable to ours.
